Welcome to the 787th Corby Glen Sheep Fair!
Chairmans address 2025
This year it’s the 787th Sheep Fair and Glen Fest over the whole weekend!
There’s live music and a beer festival combined with tradition, entertainment and much more over the whole weekend from Friday evening on the 3rd October and right through to evening on Sunday 5th. We are delighted that Batemans and the Fighting cocks are proud key sponsors of this year Sheep Fair and at the heart of the event.
With loads of stalls, music and more food than ever this year as well as classic cars, rides in a Goat Carriage, birds of prey and the fun fair we all love. I am delighted the very popular dog show has returned! There are new competitions for you to show off your baking and creativity, and much much more…Including PROBABLY THE BEST RAFFLE IN THE WORLD! Lots of great prizes to be won – raffle tickets are available now and over the weekend.
FRIDAY 3rd October
GlenFest! Beer and music at the Fighting Cocks…
Pub and beer festival opens at 12 noon and there’s live music at 4.30 with Side by Side and at 8pm with Under the Covers.
SATURDAY 4th October
Traditional Sheep Auction and Family Fun Day…
After 787 years, the Sheep Fair couldn’t survive without the unwavering support of Scott, Hugh and the amazing team at Melton Market. The day starts in Tanners Lane field with the Sheep Auction and Farmers Market, stalls, great food offerings, vintage farm machinery and featuring one of my favourite bands of the weekend, back by overwhelming demand – Shaughrauns! We have a licenced bar, bake off, tug-of-war, kids activity area and more competitions. The beer festival at the Fighting Cocks continues with live music later – Jacuzzi Soup from 6pm and the D J Keffi from 9pm.
SUNDAY 5th October
There will be tons of stalls, great food offerings, and the main stage event list is bursting at the seams! live music including Lili Redman, our amazing Primary School is putting on a choir and The Dance Academy will wow us all with some great routines! Of course there’ll be Morris Dancers, Line Dancers and my personal favourite – The legendary food challenge returns, now in its fifth year and will be full of surprises, some you like and some you don’t!
The sporting challenge in memory of Bailey Drew will this year be ‘5-a-side football’ and will be open to all this year to set up your own teams!
The Fighting Cocks beer festival is open from 12 noon and there’s live music at 4pm with Jimmy Evans.
You can dance, drink, eat and party the weekend away, as well as going home with some great purchases – ready for Christmas and more! look out for the human fruit machine – makes me giggle every time.
Thank you to all our stall holders, sponsors, raffle prize donors and volunteers, you make a massive difference to our funding and help to make it a great day.
Don’t forget the Willoughby Gallery has a great exhibition on, the Church Rooms are open and at the Church there will be guided tours during the day.
If you need help on the day look out for our Marshalls in their new pink tops – there to help make your day a memorable one!
On behalf of the committee, we wish you all an amazing day!
